Since far too often we only publicly say nice things about people when they are dead I’ve decided to randomly pick a Facebook friend every day and say something nice about them.

Today’s person: Eddie Grey!
I have worked with Eddie exactly one time, and once is not enough to work with such a fun, energetic, immensely talented, bundle of wow.
Eddie and I did “Tuck Everlasting” together at TheatreWorks. I tricked him, chased him, listened to him sing a beautiful song about getting married to an underaged girl (creepy, but beautiful), pulled a gun on him, I sang to him about my dream of immortality and world domination (also creepy, but beautiful), threatened his little friend, after which I was beaten to death with a shotgun in front of him by his mother, fell at his feet, and he and Travis Leland dragged me offstage.
So we’ve had a complex relationship.
But aside from the whole his family murdered me and got away with it stuff I found him to be a very smart, witty, charming young man - always dedicated and professional, always with a beaming smile, always active in the adventure of life in general and an artist’s life in particular. He was ambitious without being a dick about it, and a generous mentor to the children with whom he worked.
He was rock solid onstage and delightful off, and while the odds of working together again are small I’d like that very much.
