NYC fugitive/slave/act reading

Last night I went to an event for Black playwrights at the Public Theatre, organized in part by Garlia Cornelia Jones-Ly who, coincidentally, produced the reading of my play “fugitive/slave/act” last year here in New York. If not for the success of that small reading with Blackboard Plays last year I would not have the reading this year with American Slavery Project at the National Black Theatre. Garlia is a very intelligent, passionate artist well on her way to being a force in theatre, and that’s a good thing for all of us.
