Since far too often we only publicly say nice things about people when they are dead I’ve decided to randomly pick a Facebook friend every day and say something nice about them.

It’s hard to be a magician.
It’s hard to be a clown.
It’s hard to be an actor.
It’s hard to be Santa.
It’s also hard to be a dependable, smart, friendly, outgoing mensch of a person. In a world of meanness, and in a City increasingly full of humorless sociopaths who value the Ayn Randian insanity of heartless selfishness over shared humanity, it’s rare and wonderful to contact - however infrequently - a big spirit.
It’s hard to be a refuge of talent and friendliness in the Storm of Harsh we’ve allowed our City - every city - to become.
It’s hard to be all that, and to be nice.
So it must be hard to be Glen.
