I think one of the most difficult things for me to get used to here in Barcelona is the mid-day break thing. Not that I have problem with it, but it messes me up when it comes to connecting with others. A few days ago I was planning on getting together with someone, and because we didn't meet up first thing in the morning - before it got blisteringly hot - I ended up on hold until almost sundown. I totally understand it, but as one person here told me it can be frustrating to visitor who want to make touristing plans.
